Radiology (Diagnostic Imaging)
What We Do
Our services include routine X-ray, computed tomography, and ultrasound medical imaging services. There are no radiologists on staff. All exams performed in-house are interpreted via tele-radiology services. Nuclear medicine, magnetic resonance imaging, fluoroscopy, bone densitometry, and mammography procedures are not performed at this facility and are referred to the TRICARE network. Radiographic exams are performed on a walk-in basis. CT and ultrasound exams require advance scheduling. All exams require a radiology referral completed by your health care provider.

Getting Care
Outpatient Routine Imagining Services
Orders originated from providers at the 2nd Medical Group will automatically go into the booking queue for our clinic. Please bring in any prior outside comparison imaging studies/reports on a CD.
If We Can’t Do Your Imaging Study
If our clinic is unable to do your exam, your provider will place a referral order that will be appointed to a network imaging provider.
It will take approximately three to five business days for the referral to process, unless it’s urgent; that will involve same-day coordination with the network provider. Visit
Humana Military to access your network provider referral authorization.
If no referral authorization is visible, contact
2nd Medical Group Referral Management to find out if your referral is still in progress.
Off-Base Provider Orders
Inform the provider to fax the imaging order to our office at 318-456-6646. Contact us once the provider has faxed the order and we’ll work to set up an appointment for you. You may also want to hand-carry a hard copy of the script in case we haven’t received fax confirmation. At any point in the process, you can reach our clinic directly at 318-456-6253.
Results
Results will be read by a tele-radiologist four to seven days after the exam (unless urgent). Within another 24 to 48 hours, the Radiologist interpretations will be visible on the
MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.
To request results to be sent to off-base providers, contact Patient Administration at 318-456-6402. To request image placement onto a CD, please come in to our office to complete a release of information form. We also recommend contacting your ordering provider for a follow up.
